The impact of quality education in English provided by the Christian churches throughout Sabah has yet to be fully documented. It is also largely an untold story. An entire generation of Sabahans was educated and equipped to face the challenges of a globalised world and for leadership roles in government, education, and private enterprise. In sharing with us about his days in Tawau as the principal of St Patrick’s School, James Power has placed on record the principles and values that guided his life and career. There are lessons here for all, especially those entrusted with the education of younger generations.
